Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse – What Everyone Should Know About The Diversity In The Movie

Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse Opens Today!  You can earn a chance for a pair of tickets!

This past Tuesday I collaborated with Claudia from Trendy Latina for the Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse Red Carpet Event in Brooklyn!  I wanted the opportunity to photograph and video more events, and NYC is always a short train ride for me.  I love going into the city to work!

Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse

We had the opportunity to attend a VIP preview event showcasing an interactive , larger-than-live spiderweb immersive AR experience, inspired by the new animated film.  To kick off the experience, we entered through a subway tunnel into the red carpet area where there was a 40-foot aluminum spiderweb overhead.SPIDER-MAN™: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE

Using augmented reality we used our phones and a browser-based program to become a member of the Spider-Verse.  Then with our web-spinning ability, we interacted with our phones and targets to capture the loot. We had the chance to try this out prior to the arrival of the stars.

The Diversity In Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind!  Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn Afro-Latino teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

Spider-Man exclaims towards the end of the movie that anyone can wear the mask.  Superheros are for everyone.  The film displays a multiverse where the heroes are diverse, just like the world we live in today.  In parallel universes, multiple individuals were bitten by the radioactive spider and gain spider powers.  But Miles Morales, who lives on earth where the villainous crime lord Kingpin builds a machine that brings the worlds together.  It is up to Miles and his new Spider-friends to thwart the Kingpin’s plans and save the worlds.
