Phonetic Eye Wear Twitter Party

Do your eyes feel tired after working at your computer all day? Do you ever feel your eyes twitching? That was happening to me from all of the computer and screen use I have on a daily basis, until I found Phonetic Eye Wear at the #BlogHer Conference! What Is Blue Light? Weather As every other runner is doing, we check the weather forecast SEVERAL…read more

Last Minute Prep For The NYC Marathon

I most definitely have pre-race jitters!  They are very similar to the way I felt before my first Walt Disney World Marathon.  I had to clean off my desk and get all my affairs in order so that I could focus on my agenda, timing, locations of where I need and want to be, and…read more

NYC Marathon Taper

I am in that crazy taper mode for the NYC Marathon and I’m starting to feel a little batty!  I dressed for a run the other day, went out the door, started walking as my warm up, did one running interval for 30 seconds and then walked the rest of my time on the road. …read more

NYC Marathon 20 Mile Training Run

I wanted to get this run done and gain more confidence for the race.  I didn’t dwell too much on it prior to doing it and wanted to enjoy it.  It was the perfect day to get the 20 miles in and I can say that I feel much better about the race coming up;…read more

People Don’t Give A BLEEP!

I came across some content from Gary Vaynerchuk on LinkedIn this week. His insight is very interesting.  He states the obvious.  The messages I took away from listening to him are: You need to be optimistic. Do what you want to do. “You have to figure out how to try shit.” Find your passion. See…read more

Hunger Is Scary

Recently I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful woman, Sharon, for a cause that is important to her.  Every Halloween she raises awareness to help support local food shelters with a Student Group Competition.  She asked for my help in getting the word out via social media.  I love her message, “hunger is…read more

Run summary – 8 miles

Yesterday I did my 8 mile run.  It took me 1 hours 29 minutes.  It was a beautiful morning, almost 40 degrees and sunny.  It had a feeling of spring to it.  I heard some birds and the sun felt warm.  I used mapmyrun to set my route, but when I was out there running…read more

New gear

I am so excited.  I went to my local running store shore Sound Runner and bought some new gear.  Now that I am running longer distances I have to start carrying water and fuel with me.  I had the change to talk to Gretchen while I was there and she gave me advice on what fuel…read more

Snow what!

It was still below 30 degrees and we drove around my route to see how the roads looked. Some were clear some were not. I would say about half of my route was clear. I was bound to get out there to run. It didn’t look like I was going to be able to get…read more

A rough night but a good run

“If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how fast or how far. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or if you’ve been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run.” –John Bingham I have been tracking…read more

Stretching

I found a good video on youtube about stretching and using the roller to work out the sore spots.  Now that I am doing the longer runs I am starting to feel it the days aftewards and am now going to have to incorporate a day just for stretching to work out the kinks.

Yuck snow!

I used to love snow and I still like it because the kids are so excited when they wake up to see it laid a white blanket on our lawn. But now when I see it I worry how long it will be on the side of the road and in the way for my…read more
